This is a list of free article directories with alexa rating, page rank and nofollow status (if it says YES in the nofollow column it means that the specific article directory will add a nofollow link when pointing back to your site - useless from the search engine point of view). Submitting articles to free article directories is very useful since you not only gain popularity by having visitors come from the article directory to your site, but you also gain search engine ranking by having a backlink to your site. However, submitting to multiple article directories the same article is not particularly recommended, so better make small adjustments before submitting an article. There are literally thousands of free article directories, though most of them have little of no traffic thus is recommended to submit your article to only a few top free article directories.
